The Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) has so many great goals that it is hard to narrow down. Attempting to take on everything from greenhouse gas emissions to the preservation of wildlife, the NRDC has a never ending goal of trying to take care of the things that can be taken care of. Another great charity is the Ocean Conservancy. The organization does what it can to protect wildlife and reef systems around the world. Through education, research and speaking engagements, the awareness that the Oceans are one of our most valuable assets for life around the world are brought to the forefront throught the Ocean Conservancy.

The HSUS is the nation's largest animal protection organization with more than seven million members and constituents. The HSUS is a mainstream voice for animals, with active programs in companion animals, wildlife and habitat protection, animals in research, and farm animals. The HSUS protects all animals through legislation, litigation, investigation, education, advocacy and field work.

9 Lives Rescue is one of the charities that Lisa donates her time to. During my time in Bosnia, she spent her time finding homes for the pets that needed homes and she currently takes care of the cats that are constantly at PetSmart by giving them love and attention. She also takes care of their laundry weekly so they have a nice soft, fresh place for the kittties to lay down. Dedicated to finding homes for all needy pets, 9 Lives Rescue makes sure that caring adoptive homes are found for everyone.

The Humane Farming Association’s goals are to protect farm animals from cruelty, to protect the public from the dangerous misuse of antibiotics, hormones, and other chemicals used on factory farms, and to protect the environment from the impacts of industrialized animal factories.

 The Humane Farming Association provides care and shelter for mistreatment at their Farm Animal Refuge - Suwanna Ranch. Suwanna Ranch is the largest farm animal rescue facility in the world. Over seven square miles, the Refuge offers hands-on emergency care, rehabilitation, and refuge for abused farm animals. HFA is the only national farm animal protection organization with a shelter that has never turned away farm animals seized as a result of a cruelty case.

Defenders of Wildlife is dedicated to the protection of all native wild animals and plants in their natural communities. Their focus is on two of the most serious environmental threats to the planet: the accelerating rate of extinction of species and the associated loss of biological diversity, and habitat alteration and destruction. Defenders of Wildlife also advocates new approaches to wildlife conservation that will help keep species from becoming endangered. Their programs encourage protection of entire ecosystems and interconnected habitats while protecting predators that serve as indicator species for ecosystem health.
